Dr. David H. Aizuss enjoys wide recognition as one of the premier ophthalmic surgeons in Los Angeles. He has been recognized by other physicians by his inclusion in the renowned Guide to Top Doctors and was named one of Los Angeles' top ophthalmologists in Los Angeles Magazine's top doctors issue of 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. He also has received the People's Choice award as well as the Compassionate Physician award annually. He was awarded a resolution of commendation from both the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors as well as the California Senate for his service to patients and his fellow physicians.
Dr. Aizuss was educated at Northwestern University Medical School's Honors Program in Medical Education, a highly competitive program open to only 60 students nationwide. He subsequently completed his residency in ophthalmology at the world-renowned UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute.
Dr. Aizuss is fellowship trained in corneal and refractive surgery at UCLA, with special expertise in cataract surgery, corneal transplantation and all types of refractive surgery. Dr. Aizuss has been elected by other physicians in California and Los Angeles as President of the California Academy of Ophthalmology, President of the Los Angeles Society of Ophthalmology and President of the Los Angeles County Medical Association. He is presently Chair of the board of Trustees of the California Medical Association.. He has been honored by the American Academy of Ophthalmology with both its Honor and Senior Honor Achievement Awards. Dr. Aizuss continues actively teaching at the UCLA School of Medicine as well as lecturing to other ophthalmologists regarding the latest advances in cataract surgery and lens implants.
He is sought out as a speaker on new intraocular lens implants and techniques and consults nationwide with other surgeons as well as investment and venture capital companies interested in the latest ophthalmic surgical technology.
